Starting in the main street of Forrest, riders will be let off at approximately 9.00am for this fast start to the weekend.  Heading south away from the township, riders will ride along mostly bitumen before entering into dirt road for a short stretch.  Along with the bitumen this should spread riders out enough before they hit the first section of legendary Forrest SingleTrack.

Taking in trails "Third time Lucky", "Follow the Dog" and "Roller Coaster", this section of Forrest know locally as "sofo" is renowned for it's flow and massive deep berms.  There is enough challenges to make sure you will kept on your toes and even a small "intersection" that may come into play late in the stage.

After completeting this section of singletrack, riders will cross the main Forrest road and head towards the West Barwon Dam.  Following the wider yet fast "Forrest Loop" trail, there will be plenty of jostling at the front of the pack, before riders come down from the dam and then a quick bit of the bottom of Red Carpet, with a short lung busting climb to get there.  This final little blast down the bottom of RedCarpet is awesome.

Stage 1 will finish at Henigan Cresent, where riders will take just a short ride back up to town where they can recover, drink and eat up, in preparation for the next stages.
